Crypmoji Legacy iOS Application was the original Objective-C implementation of the Crypmoji encrypted messaging platform.

My role and work

As an iOS Team Lead at Crypmoji, I initially investigated and refactored the existing Objective-C codebase, evaluating its architecture, maintainability, and technical limitations.

Identified architectural bottlenecks, tightly coupled components, and limitations affecting long-term scalability and testability. Based on this assessment, I recommended rebuilding the application using a more modular, maintainable, and testable architecture rather than continuing incremental changes to the legacy implementation.

Led the architectural direction for the redesigned Crypmoji application, applying SOLID principles, Protocol-Oriented Programming, separation of concerns, and incremental MVVM adoption, while mentoring junior engineers and improving team collaboration.
